
The cervix, located in the lower part of the womb and connected to the birth canal (vagina), is wherea tumor or cervical cancer can develop.
Cervical cancer occurs when normal cells in the cervix change into cancer cells. It is usually caused by a chronic and persistent cancer-causing of the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) infection, that may lead to pre-malignant lesions and progress to cancer.
Symptoms: Cervical cancer symptoms often go unnoticed because they mimic so many other ailments. Many women pass these symptoms off as PMS or ovulation pains.Many times however, cervical cancer has no symptoms. When symptoms are present, they usually do not appear until the cancer is more advanced.
Every woman is at risk
Any woman who is sexually active can be a victim of the disease: rich or poor, learned or ignorant
… even those who are engaged in an exclusive relationship are not exempted.
